Matthew Brownstein - Director
Matthew Brownstein, CHt is the executive director of The Florida Institute of Hypnotherapy and Florida Institute of Hypnotherapy Associates, Inc. Matthew is also the founder and owner of Silent Light Publishers and Anahat Meditation Center. He is a certified clinical hypnotherapist, certified examiner and approved instructor through the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners. He currently has a private Hypnotherapy practice in Gainesville, Florida out of the Institute, where he serves as lead instructor. He is a graduate of the Hypnotherapy Academy of America and has practiced Hypnotherapy since 1997, having logged over 10,000 hours of clincial practice in the field.

Matthew Brownstein, CHt, is the author of Peace Under All Circumstances, The Sutras on Healing and Enlightenment, The Journals of Myckal Divane and The Sacred Geometry of Meditation. He has also produced over 60 audio products in the fields of health, healing and spiritual growth. Matthew has lived many years in monasteries, ashrams and spiritual communities experiencing first-hand the life-transforming practices of many diverse spiritual traditions.
He is a graduate of the University of Florida, with a Bachelors degree in Religion, where he studied in detail the psychologies and philosophies of Buddhism and Hindu Mysticism with a focus on Zen, Yoga and Eastern Mysticism in general. As a graduate of the Hypnotherapy Academy of America, Matthew has extensive training in Hypnotherapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Transactional Analysis, Gestalt Therapy, Psychoneuroimmunology, Rebirthing, and Past and Present Life Regression Work. He also holds certifications in Basic and Master level NLP through the National Federation of Neuro-Linguistic Psychology.

Many years of post-graduate studies has offered Matthew a strong background in energetic healing from the traditions of Acupuncture and Herbology, which he studied formally at the Florida School of Acupuncture (Oveida, Florida) and the Southwest Acupuncture College (Santa Fe, New Mexico.) Matthew has studied Yoga and Meditation in India at the International Meditation Institute in the Himalayas, at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Massachusetts, and at Zen Mountain Monastery in New York's Catskill Mountains.
